What Is a QR Menu? How Does It Work?
A QR menu presents a restaurant or café's menu digitally instead of on paper — the customer scans a QR code at the table with their phone camera to open it. No app download or account is needed; the menu opens straight in the browser.
How does it work?
- Each table gets its own unique QR code (a table card, a stand-up tag, etc.).
- The customer scans it with their phone camera; the menu appears in the browser, no extra app needed.
- The menu shows categories, item photos, descriptions and prices.
- If the system also supports at-table ordering, the customer can build a cart and order from the same screen.

How is it different from a paper menu?
With a paper menu, changing a price or item means reprinting. With a QR menu, the same change is made from the dashboard in seconds and shows up on the next scan at every table. Details that are hard to fit on paper — nutrition values, allergen information — fit comfortably in a digital menu.
Is a QR menu system free?
It depends — some systems charge a monthly fee, others also add a per-order commission. With VelorySoftMenü, prices are visible on the site and there's no per-order commission; you can try it free before setting up.
